Employment Practices Liability Insurance otherwise referred to as EPLI provides coverage for defense costs and damages arising from claims by workers that their rights as employees of the company have been violated. Examples of certain employment-related claims include:

Each Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) policy is different so be sure to fully understand what each company and policy will cover and what types of claims are excluded.  One example of a common exclusion from an EPLI policy is wage and hour claims.  Some carriers may pay for a defense against such EPLI claims, but tend not to pay for damages or penalties awarded in a judgement.
