Many renters believe that their landlord’s insurance would cover them for their losses, and in most cases they are wrong. It costs more than you might think to replace your personal property and cover your additional living expenses.  Renters insurance is an inexpensive way to protect yourself from unexpected losses and liability claim that can arise when you rent your residence.

What about if your laptop or other items were stolen from your car? Your auto insurance does not typically cover your personal property in your car, but your renters insurance policy usually would cover your personal property in and out of your home.
