The property section has its limits per location and per coverage, the general liability section has an occurrence limit and a separate aggregate, and any auto, crime, or inland marine line has its own again. A single policy number can make it look like one pot of money. It is not. What is worth checking is whether defense costs sit inside or outside the liability limit, and whether the general liability aggregate applies per location or across the whole account.
